A Proper Garden

As I have said in a previous post, I love gardening and I dream of having a proper garden someday. Of course, the since the dream house project is now in limbo, no thanks to Ondoy, I can only wish for that proper garden. So can you imagine my delight when we went to Sonya's Garden last weekend?

Whenever I get my hands on a magazine, I always look at ideas on how to make a pocket and dish gardens. I think this is the closest thing to having a garden that I can achieve. It really makes me happy to get my hands dirty and see how a patch of soil turns into a thing of beauty after a few days. Oh well, I can always dream!

But I make do by planting on bottles and even Halloween baskets! I think I can make a proper garden out of a this collection!

Travel Wish List: Europe

This weekend, we were in Tagaytay for a team building activity. We climbed a volcano and marveled at the beautiful sight of Taal Volcano. While we were resting and waiting for some shade on our way down, the conversation turned to where we want to go if we can travel out of the country. Surprisingly, we all wanted to go to Europe. One friend wants to go there to shop at all those designer boutiques and stores like Timberland Schuhe. I want to visit ancient Rome and wonder what it was like during their golden age. Another friend wants to see Paris and all museums all over Europe. We had so much fun dreaming about this trip that they asked me prepare an itinerary and budget so that we will have an idea how far we are from realizing this dream. Of course, this is a challenge but one that is easy for me. I already have hotel ideas, thanks to Hotels Europa Spanien and Hotels weltweit buchen. These websites are so easy to use that I was able to plan a trip right away. And thanks again to these websites, we now know that we need to start saving for this trip right away!

Insurance Claim Status

Remember that I filed an insurance claim for the devastation that typhoon Ondoy brought to my house? Well, it has been 2 and a half weeks since I went to the Pag-Ibig office in Makati to file it. I followed up last week and was told that my application was among the first batch of the insurance claims filed with the adjuster. They said that I should call again this week and get the number of the adjuster so that I can call them as well to follow up. In the meantime, I was told that I can already proceed with the repair of the house and the photos are already sufficient. I was also advised to just keep all receipts of materials that I will buy for the repair. The insurance claim may take 90 days, I was also told.

Well, this is a first time for me so I want to ask all of you if this is really how an insurance claim process or procedure is. I really don't want to do any repair until an adjuster has seen the house. Just to be on the safe side. I would appreciate any advise you can give me.
